TRAILRULES

The trails on Göttweiger Berg are a pilot project aimed at enabling peaceful coexistence between hikers, mountain bikers, and other users on one mountain.

To ensure the continued existence of the trails, we kindly ask you to follow a few basic rules:

  • Wearing a helmet is mandatory on all trails. Additional protective gear is recommended (knee pads, elbow pads, back protector, etc.).

  • Respect nature and keep the trails clean.

  • Assess your riding skills realistically and adjust your speed to the trail conditions (rain, snow, fog, etc.).

  • Do not stop in sections with poor visibility.

  • When stopping, leave the trail in a way that allows others to pass without obstruction.

  • Do not leave bicycles on the trail.

  • Be considerate of slower riders, walkers, runners, etc.

  • All information and prohibition signs must be obeyed.

  • Riding off marked mountain bike trails or against the designated direction is strictly prohibited — violations may result in legal consequences.

  • Parts of the listed routes are located on public roads; traffic regulations apply.

  • Changes or additions to the approved trails are only permitted after consultation with the club board.

  • Use of the trails is allowed from one hour after sunrise until one hour before sunset.

  • Pets are not allowed on the MTB trails.

  • Commercial use of the Trailarea Göttweig is generally prohibited. With prior agreement, a usage permit may be arranged. Please contact us via email or the contact form on the homepage.

Note: Riding the trails is at your own risk! No liability is assumed for accidents or property damage. Instructions from the club and all signage must be followed.
