Behavior in an emergency

In an accident situation where the injured person cannot independently leave the route to a public road, please observe the following instructions:

  • Dial the emergency number 144 or notify the rescue control center using the "Rettung" app.

  • State the location of the accident. If possible, include the name, color, and/or number of the rescue point .

  • Please specify the number of injured persons and their condition (responsive/unresponsive) and, if possible, the type or severity of the injuries.

  • In difficult terrain, position a person above the accident site who refuses to allow following bikers to continue driving or redirects them to other parts of the route.

  • Please be sensitive and helpful! You might need help yourself someday and be glad when it's provided quickly and smoothly.

Rescue concept

A rescue plan for the Göttweig trail area was developed in coordination with local emergency services (rescue, fire department, police). The aim is to ensure rapid and targeted assistance in case of emergency.

Designated rescue points are established along the trails. These are clearly marked and numbered on-site so that emergency services can quickly identify them. The rescue points serve as central reference points for locating accident sites within the trail area.

In an emergency, it is recommended to go to the nearest rescue point or to provide its identification number/designation to the alerted emergency services. This allows the incident command to precisely determine the accident location and coordinate the arrival of the rescue services accordingly.

The rescue concept is regularly coordinated with the participating organizations and adapted as needed to ensure a consistently high level of operational readiness and safety in the trail area.
